Lots of fun stuff this weekend we hope! I think we have recovered enough from last weeks amateur bullfight to partake in a professional one. This one should be much more bearable (?) since the matadors will be well trained professionals. A couple of other students in the school are wanting to go, so we'll fill up our flask and head on out for a exciting Friday night of fun.
We leave Saturday morning at 9 on a trip to Pátzcuaro and three other little towns near here. All are within an hour of here and are full of local artists and trinket shops, and you all know I'm a sucker for trinket. Luckily we don't have much room in our bags ;) The tour is through the school, so we will have a guide to give us a little history and insight to the wonderous visions we will encounter (nice, eh?).
That will give us Sunday to relax and enjoy the sunshine that should be returning. It's a little overcast today and only about 70, but should be mostly sunny this weekend. We have a 30+ degree temperature swing here each day and it goes from freezing (relative) in the mornings to "Damn it's nice" by noon. We have been reading the Seattle Times online here and have been reading about the nasty storms heading into Seattle. Hope our gigantic tree stays up in our yard!
We went to the grand opening of a new bar in town last night. One of Jen's classmates is living with a family that is related to the bar owner. Seems everyone here has relatives in every corner of the city. With the size of some of the failies, it might just be true. Anyway, we went there and have a few cold ones with her and our roomate Julia and her latin lover boyfriend, Carlos. The bar was in the patio of an old house that had been convereted to offices. It had high ceilings and columns all around. Quite a neat environment to listen to Sean Paul in.
